This group really isn't all that strict, but we do have rules.
Rise of a Brownie Dragon Queen ch10The Elven King was sat in his council chambers. With him were the most senior his highborn lords and ladies.
At the King's side was Venatriel, his only daughter. Seated next to her was her faithful Brownie bodyguard and companion, Lady Melkanen.
"Our spies report that the child is healthy," said an elf in a grey robe. "They also report that King Heinrich has left his kingdom to visit the Flower Islands. He has been involved in a long-standing dispute with the Kingdom of Nalbia over the Islands' independence.
The birth of a son to King Heinrich and his Brownie queen Trasifen was of concern to the lords of Elvendom. Such a child would be a heir to a kingdom of men as well as an important Brownie principality. The prospect of a united Brownie kingdom was dawning.
"Sire, there is the possibility of preventing the child growing," offered an elf in a black robe.
"You would advise me to end the life of an innocent child, Lord Sorperon?" asked the Elven King.

Chapter 5 Part 1 Vaeassen could finally relax somewhat after the ordeal with Zephyr. While he could rest for the moment, he could barely sleep throughout the night due to all he had learn. His last thoughts before he had fallen asleep were of Ygerna and if she really was the Queen Arasinya. If it were true, the person he knew as Ygerna was a lie. He only slept a few hours before he was up before the light of day.
He now paced impatiently around his room trying to make himself believe Ygerna was dead and not the queen of Ethurus. Almost from the start of Ygerna first meeting Vaeassen, she knew who he was but he found it hard to believe he had fallen in love with the Rayellon princess at the time. Ygerna would have not had withhold such important information from him. Then again, it was risky enough that a Visceron prince fell in love with a Rayellon and Ygerna might have been afraid to ruin their close bond. Rise of a Brownie Dragon Queen ch9When a brownie prince or princess had a son, it was a cause of great celebration among their people. The village of Selkeden, under the lordship of Princess Trasifen were celebrating the birth of a son who would not only rule their lands, but would be a king of men.
The villagers of Selkeden had been celebrating since the early evening, until well into the night. They had danced and sang. They had feasted it on roasted meat and drank the sweetest of meads. They loved their princess and they would love the son she bore by her human husband.
Kiriten, a young goatherdess and her lover, Kolorn sat on a bench, exhausted from the long hours of dancing.
"I'll bet it's a odd looking baby, what with the father being a round-ear," said Kolorn.
Kolorn was the son of the village priest. As his father had no herds of goats to be looked after, he spent much of his days in idleness, usually in the company of Kiriten, as she tended her family's herds. The two of them had lazed their days away on the m
